This 2-class workshop provides a more in-depth experience into the fascinating world of Raku. Class1: Students will slab construct 3 ghost, cut out their faces and prep for Raku firing the following week. Class 2: Students will paint their ghost using special Raku glazes and fire them up to 1800. After reaching 1800, ghosts will be pulled out of the kiln using protective safety gear and equipment and placed into a reduction chamber (trashcan full of combustibles). After 15 mins, Ghost will be removed, cleaned up and available to TAKE HOME! That’s right! Raku is the only ceramic firing process that you take your pots home the same night! Please show up 15 minutes prior to class Workshop Dates and Times: 10/22 & 10/29; 1-3pm Workshop is suitable for Ages 6 & Up. Under 14 must have parent supervision Limited number of spots available for Parent/Child. Ask us for Details!
