Description
This evening of new dance works by faculty and guest artists is an invitation to be present, to make meaning, and to gather in shared space and time. The concert features student performers and presents repertory by Mount Holyoke and Amherst College faculty members including Balinda Craig-Quijada, Barbie Diewald, Jeff Jean-Philippe, and Erin Kouwe. A highlight of the program will be the premiere of this year’s Five College Repertory Project, Connection, choreographed by Tatiana Desardouin of Passion Fruit Dance Company, with rehearsal director Shakia Barron. Access Note: The Dance Department at Mount Holyoke College is committed to making its performances and facilities more accessible to our communities. For the safety of our patrons, please refrain from wearing heavily scented products in our theater. Our Studio Theater and public restrooms are located on the main floor of the Kendall Sports and Dance Complex. Gender-neutral restrooms will be indicated with signage. For people with mobility disabilities: • Our accessible entrance ramp is at the main entrance to the building, to the left of the stairs. • Our theater has wheelchair and scooter-accessible seating where our audience members can remain in their wheelchairs or transfer to theater seats. • There will be “designated aisle seats” available for those who need them • Public restrooms are wheelchair accessible • Our parking lot is in front and to the left of Kendall Sports and Dance Complex at the end of Dunlap Place. There are five Accessible Parking spaces for those with permits. These are located in the row closest to the building. For people with low vision: • Large-print, san serif programs are available at all performances. Our ushers can provide these upon request. For people with sensory processing needs: • We have designated a “quiet” area available for people who are overstimulated and need a quiet place to sit. This area is identified with signage, and is through the Streeter Lounge (across the lobby from the theater entrance) in the Peppy Dennett Room. • We provide earplugs for our audience members who are sensitive to high volumes and frequencies. For people with sensitivity to fragrances and chemicals: • We provide unscented soap in all our public restrooms • We have designated fragrance-free seating in the area to the right of the aisle.
