The Larry Swanson Long Island Environmental Summit: A focus on will be held at Stony Brook University’s School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, 8:30 am to 12:30pm in 120 Endeavour Hall, on South Campus. Regional attention is focusing on the overall state of our solid waste infrastructure. Our major facilities were conceived and built more than 30 years ago, and the passage of time requires a fresh assessment of what we have, what we need, and how we will manage our waste in the years to come. The Symposium will be a half-day event and will feature several panels of speakers on topics including ash on Long Island, recycling in the 20's, and employment issues/industry and hiring trends. We believe it will be of interest to all who work to provide this essential public service. Parking is limited, so please carpool if possible. It is free to register. Refreshments will be provided.
