Ready for a spook-tacular night of 'spirited' goings-on? Join us for a frightfully fun mixed media art session with local artist Sharon Hendry, followed by a ghost tour along the Strand with Kathleen Maca, author of Ghosts of Galveston. We'll begin the evening in Sharon's personal studio, where she'll lead us in making Halloween themed mixed media creations of our very own. No experience required! Your creations will be fun to use with your Halloween decorations, or send to friends. All art supplies will be provided. Afterward, Kathleen will lead us on a ghostly walk in the Historic Strand District and share tales of those who've never quite left the island. We'll be walking at a leisurely pace, taking time to see if you can capture photos of ghosts through windows and on the street like so many have before. But don't be surprised if someone unseen tugs on your sleeve, or you feel a chill on this warm fall night...it's just their way of saying "hello." Feel free to dress in costume or come as you are - this evening is all about fun! We'll meet at the Proletariat Bar in the National Artist Loft Building (2221 Market Street), where Sharon will take us to her studio to begin the evening. Please note: TICKETS ARE LIMITED! We've designed this experience to be a special evening for a few lucky people. Please wear comfortable walking shoes, and be aware of curbs and uneven walking paths. The Strand is well lit, so flashlights aren't necessary but you are welcome to bring one if you like. No video or audio recording allowed during the tour. STILL PHOTOS ARE ENCOURAGED-you never know who or what you might capture! Guide takes no responsibility for injuries incurred during tour. There are limited restroom opportunities at this time on the Strand, so it is encouraged to "take care of business" ahead of time. Feel free to bring your beverages along! Tour will be given rain or shine except in the case of a severe thunderstorm. Ticket fee is non-refundable.
