Dimas Garza was born and raised in the heart of the Westside and attended Lanier High School, where he first turned his English class poetry skills into songwriting. You’ve Succeeded: The Life & Times of Dimas Garza follows his life, career, and accomplishments as an artist, best told by his closest friends and music historians. Preceeded by: Mr. Zoot Suit. Directed by Chan’Cellore Makanjuola. After putting his dreams on hold, Our Lady of the Lake University’s Moses Porras follows his passion for dancing and educating others about the history of the Zoot Suit. Jaime's Place is incredibly honored and excited to partner with MonteVideo to put together a fall film series for you all, titled: "Watcha!" From indie grooves to West Side Sound, Watcha!, a new Fall film series presented by MonteVideo in partnership with Jaime’s Place, spotlights Latino filmmakers Isabel Castro, Chuco Garcia, Abel Sanchez, and Andres Alegria. Curated by MonteVideo’s Manuel Solis, "Watcha!" includes Mr. Zoot Suit by Chan’Cellore Makanjuola, A Song for Cesar: The Music and The Movement, Mija, and You've Succeeded. MonteVideo was created to support Latinx-themed independent film screenings for underserved communities via non-traditional venues.
