Black women and girls are often underrepresented in stories and media that are led by actors and actresses who do not look like them. These images or ‘stories we don't see' contribute to a lack of self-worth, poor body image, depression, anxiety and other negative psychological effects. Our goal is to celebrate the power and beauty of the Black woman through a movie experience that will build community through film. Our community of Black women and girls, who we love and respect so much, deserve a space to be celebrated. Let's come together as a community and show our most empowered selves. We will dress in our most empowering outfits, take amazing photos, watch an incredible film that shows us as the warriors we are. Finally, we will have a guided discussion to help make an even bigger impact on the themes and lessons learned from the film.
