Feeling pressured to use the L word

I've lived in IL most of my life, and I plan on moving soon. The issue is that my parents also live here, and to be blunt, I know one of them will probably use the L word when I say good-bye to them, and well, I'll be uncomfortable saying it back to them. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think I should only say it if I feel it? Or do you feel I owe it to them in some way, because they gave me life, and that I should just bite the bullet and say it back to them? The other parent, they were never in my life, so they're much less of a concern of mine on saying it back to them. I've only seen them like twice in my life, and they've never said that to me before, so I'm thinking they wouldn't say it if I saw them once more. Put "L Word" in the subject so I know you're the real deal.
