Description
DETROIT — A Thursday morning road rage shooting has closed all eastbound lanes on Interstate 96 near the Southfield Freeway, Michigan State Police said.
State troopers said a Chrysler 200 and a Dodge Charger were driving east on Interstate 96 near Wyoming Avenue at 7:10 a.m. when the driver of the Charger swung around the Chrysler and slammed on its brakes.
As the Chrysler shifted to the middle lane on the freeway, the driver of the Charger reached across the seat and fired multiple shots from a black handgun at the Chrysler, state troopers said.
None of the shots struck the Chrysler or its driver, state troopers said.
Officials said the driver of the Charger was a woman in her 30s.
Officials were still investigating the scene Thursday morning. It was unclear when the freeway will open back up.
