WHAT YOU’LL DOThe successful candidates will closely partner with all departments to deliver and maintain Smithville services. Technicians will participate in ongoing monthly training, coaching sessions, department meetings, and group discussions. The successful candidates will be expected to think critically, listen actively, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must also be able to exceed customers’ expectations while supporting installation initiatives for Internet and Local Phone service. Technicians will continue to learn about Smithville and its products and have a sincere desire to assist our customers. The Telecom Technicians will aid in the development of the department by suggesting solutions that ensure each Smithville interaction results in an outstanding customer experience. Technicians are provided with company-paid (and laundered) uniforms, tools, and the use of a company vehicle during business hours. Essential Job Functions Provide excellent customer experience while installing and maintaining Smithville services for residential and business environmentsAssist in wiring new and existing homes and perform other physical activities in varying weather elementsCollaborate with the Telecom Team and multiple departments to facilitate customer satisfactionUse of company vehicle during business hoursOther duties as neededWHAT YOU’LL NEEDHigh School Diploma or equivalent required; related advanced degree or equivalent experience preferredExcellent customer service skills Previous experience with installation and repair of TV service, cable, satellite, and IPTV; a minimum of 3-5 years of experience is strongly preferredWorking knowledge of general building construction is a plusWorking knowledge of structured cabling Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds, climb and carry ladders, and work in confined spaces such as crawl spaces and attics are requiredValid driver’s license and good driving record are requiredStrong team mentality and interest in supporting the team environmentWillingness to share ideas and knowledge to improve processes Excellent verbal/written communication skills and ability to interact with a diverse population Ability to work appropriately with and protect sensitive information Embrace change, learn new skills, and a desire for continued improvement Work both independently and with co-workers toward the goals of the company Strong analytical and organizational skills Creative and critical thinking WE’VE GOT YOU COVEREDInsurance Plans include: Medical | Prescription | Dental | Vision | Term Life | Long-Term Disability | Voluntary Insurance (Our Base HDHP Medical Plan and Base Dental Plan are FREE for you and your family.
