Description
2006 Saturn Vue V6 3.5l AWD
Based on the the background below, I have been told I need a new TCM/transmission control module. To àvoid involving a dealer, I have found at least one company on the internet that manufactures TCMs specific to your vehicle. To do that, they need the vehicle vin (easy) and the TCM part no. (located on the part itself, not as easy). So, this is basically a two-part job: remove the current TCM so I can get the part number I need; and, two, install the new TCM when it arrives.
Dealing with the TCM hopefully shouldn't be too difficult. It appears to be located behind the lower dash to the the left of the steering wheel. I have removal/installation instructions (with diagrams) from a mechanic friend. If you want copies of these docs, just text me and I'll text or email them to you. (Couldn't figure out how to post them with my CL ad.)
BACKGROUND
Gears have been slipping, RPMs racing with little or no motion, dash light indicating automatic transmission fluid overheating.
Garage diagnosis reads "TCM/ transmission internal failure, pressure control solenoid/TCM failure."
I am a relatively poor uber Lyft driver. Texts (preferred), emails; NO CALLS PLEASE!. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
