Rehoming two male parakeets

Description
Hi all! I am looking to rehome two male parakeets, Dou-Dou (primarily green) and Junior (primarily yellow). They are in good health with no apparent health or major behavioral issues. Ideally, I’d like them to be rehomed together. I believe that they share a bond and that it would be stressful and upsetting to them to be separated. As male parakeets, they are naturally territorial, and these individuals should be kept in separate cages for their safety. During supervised play time, they do great together, playing with, singing to and preening each other. They are socialized to each other, but have the potential to be introduced to a larger flock with time and careful planning. They are both approximately four years old. I took them in as a last-minute emergency rescue situation, and am looking for a home that will have the time and dedication to spend with them, which they need and thrive on. On Dou-Dou: He is a sweet and gentle bird, curious and vocal, he likes to hear his name spoken and burble back to you. He is generally trusting, and a master of the “step up” command. He loves preening, and will make sure you get a budgie manicure if you offer him your hand, meaning you won’t have any hangnails left. He is generally calm (for a parakeet) and observant of you and your movements. On Junior: He has a lot of energy. Junior is sweet and very vocal, while having a more independently curious demeanor than Dou-Dou. He is very food-driven and loves a millet treat. He seeks out your attention when he wants it and trusts you. He is very demanding of Dou-Dou’s attention when he wants it, and often initiates bonding behaviors, such as sharing food. He is definitely the more vocal of the pair. Disclaimer: Parakeets, and birds for that matter, do not make good pets for first-time pet owners. They are a big time commitment and need very consistent care. Parakeets can live 10+ years in captivity. P.S: I am looking for committed and responsible bird owners to take this pair. I love these birds and want the absolute best for them. I am not taking the decision to rehome them lightly. Exeter, RI
