Band Looking For Guitarist
Meets
Los Angeles CA
Description
We have been in a very active band for most of the past decade. We recently parted ways with our guitar player (amicable) and we are looking for the right person to step in, learn our current material and eventually start writing new material. We practice in Woodland Hills once a week, generally like playing 1-3 times a month, only on weekends (unless there is a worthwhile reason to do otherwise). We all have a career, so not looking at this as a pipe dream or demanding more of ourselves than is reasonable with our regular lives. We are very committed though. We take it seriously and want to be good, marketable and handle our business like pros. Responsible, respectful, accountable, team player, zero ego. Needs to be able to handle loud, high stress environments. Needs to have their own gear and transportation. Too much work to have flakes or someone who isn’t pulling their weight or not showing up consistently. Influences (all over the map): Johnny Cash, Elvis, Tom Petty, John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band, Black Crows, Zepplin, 80’/90’s Hair Bands, GnR, Frank Turner, 90’s R&B, INXS, 80’s Pop, Outlaw Country, Southern Rock, We loosely identify with a Rockabilly Band - a little harder and a lot louder, but honestly, if it has a groove, we can dig it. Because we are all open minded and diverse in our tastes, we don’t paint ourselves into any particular boxes. We also like adding a lot of covers to our sets and we would actually like to get together an entire cover set of 2 hours or so to take advantage of some bigger paying gigs. Elvis and Johnny Cash are good for my vocals, but we also like taking top 40 songs from 50’s thru today and giving them our own spin. Someone versatile who can play clean or heavy, funk or even twang would be perfect. Harmonies and bg vocals a plus, but not necessary. We have that covered for the most part. As far as pay. We are looking for a member, a teammate, a creative partner - not a hired gun. Traditionally, we have put our money in a band pot for recording or traveling/touring. We are all down to try and also put some cash in our pockets, so that is where a cover set comes in. We can discuss as a band and agree on something that works for us all. Anyway, on top of everything, sharing this much time with 3 or 4 other people each week, we want to have fun. We want a bandmate who takes the project seriously, the show seriously, the commitments seriously, without taking themselves too seriously. No politics or agendas. We all have our own opinions for sure. We won’t push them on you and expect the same in return. We range in age, so that means less to us than the energy you put out there on stage and in the music. You can hear our current albums here: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0fnsv7iY0jxBGy3fjmq3Tv?si=PhbpYslGRhWBRkE7vaP0Cw You can also find us on YouTube and Social Media if you search. Any questions, feel free to ask. If you’re interested, we’ll be looking to have you learn 3 songs or so and come in for a 30 minute jam session and we’ll go from there. Thanks for your time and we hope to find the right person ASAP so we can get back to booking!
