Position Summary: Primarily responsible for landscaping and grounds maintenance including maintaining sprinkler systems agency wide (all agency sites). Responsible for assisting facility technicians and director of facilities in their day-to-day operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include: Ensures the grounds at all agency sites are well maintained. Travels to all agency sites on a regular basis to check on grounds, sprinkler systems and overall look of the landscaping. Engages with supervisor to determine changes in landscaping. Works closely with supervisor and tree trimming vendor to stay on schedule with regular maintenance. Assists with preventive maintenance and repair on basic household equipment and appliances. Assists with maintaining and servicing all mechanical systems such as stoves, refrigerators, garbage disposals, dishwashers, washers, dryers and exhaust fans. Assists with routine plumbing, electrical and simple carpentry repair. Drives vehicles and operates equipment necessary to perform maintenance tasks. Assists with complex and skilled maintenance tasks under supervision of supervisor or senior staff. Attends and participates in mandatory training and in-service activities. Performs other duties and participates in special projects as requested by supervisor. Interfaces with staff and clients in a service-oriented, positive and productive manner during performance of duties. Participates in QI activities and promotes such. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. All employees, regardless of position, serve as role models for children and adolescents who are served by our Agencies. Therefore, each employee must at all times be emotionally stable and able to function effectively with children, adolescents, and adults who may have mental or behavioral challenges. The staff must be able to demonstrate appropriate daily behavior, appropriate expression of emotions, as well as appropriate role modeling. Hostility, aggression and unnecessary or inappropriate physical actions as well as inappropriate emotional expressions are not acceptable. All agency employees must maintain confidentiality of client and case information and may not access information unless directly related to their job responsibilities and duties, as stated in Title XXII 88069.7 (d): “All information in case records shall be confidential and shall be available only to the licensing agency, placement agency staff and personnel who need access for the performance of their duties.” All applicants MUST be fully vaccinated. Required Education, Training, Experience and Certifications Must have High School diploma. Demonstrated experience as an all-around landscaping/ maintenance repair person. Combination of experience and formal trade education desirable. Ability to work independently, organize workload and work cooperatively with others.
