On Sunday 8/28 two local thieves stole my luggage from me on the side of the road while I was waiting for a ride near 41-485 Kalaniana'ole Highway (Waimanalo Beach / Shriners area). The thieves were heading toward Kailua, but could've ended up anywhere. I've heard that sometimes thieves just look through suitcases quickly for the valuables that they want and then dump the suitcase elsewhere on the island -- would greatly appreciate any leads if anyone sees a red, non-hard cover suitcase in any condition on the island.
Would also appreciate any tips on pawn shops that stolen things are sold at, or any other way I might be able to track down a few of my belongings. I have personal notebooks in the front pocket that I feel like the thieves would've have taken if they were in a hurry, and am hoping that if I can find the suitcase then I'll be able to at least recover those important notes and ideas I'd written down.
