Sit-Upon Weave - Weaving People Together - Fiber Art Series Monday, September 26, 2022 10:00AM - to 3:00 PM Adult Education and Cyber Center Classroom $85 **Attend the first three classes and get the 4th class in the series for free. A SIT-UPON is a 14” x 16” pad woven from unspun wool, and then felted in a washing machine. Carabiners will be provided for attaching this sit pad to a backpack making it readily available adding warmth and comfort to your outdoor adventure. If you are not a back packer, you will find a SIT-UPON useful when sitting at a picnic table, on bleachers at a sporting event or in any environment where you want insulation. When cold and damp, only wool will keep you warm. Total cost of class including all materials $85. Materials are included in the class fee of $85. Textile Artist Instructor: Doris Florig She has spent the past 50 years looking over shoulders, asking questions, reading and experimenting with weaving techniques. Doris has absorbed the skills of netting and braiding from the Cree Indians, Flechee finger weaving from the French Canadians, spinning from Ontario sheep farmers, natural dyes from the Navajo, plaiting from the Bahamians, and seat weaving from the blind.
