Capacity is limited to 49 passengers. We’re thrilled to announce the first public tours of Greens Ledge Lighthouse! Greens Ledge Light Preservation Society is partnering with Norwalk Seaport Association to offer the first publicly-available tours of Greens Ledge Lighthouse on Saturday, September 17th and Sunday, September 18th! Tickets are available for $60 (linked here) and depart from the Sheffield Island Lighthouse dock at 10:00am on Saturday and on Sunday and return at 1pm. For the first time in more than 120 years, Greens Ledge Lighthouse will be open for public tours following a five-year, $2.5 million restoration – one of the most significant lighthouse restorations in recent history. Acquired from the Federal Government in 2016 by the Greens Ledge Light Preservation Society - a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization led by local Rowayton, Darien, and Norwalk residents – the restoration of the lighthouse has been funded entirely by private donations and made possible by the support and volunteering of many individuals and businesses within our community. With major restoration work now complete, we've launched the "Next 100 Years” of Greens Ledge Light. Our vision for the “Next 100 Years” is to transform Greens Ledge Lighthouse into a beacon of research, education, sustainability and the local community. As we move forwards, programming will provide an additional avenue for fundraising and community engagement that will help sustain our annual operating budget and minimize the need for additional capital campaigns for decades to come. Parking is available adjacent to the dock and the Norwalk Maritime Center Garage. Ages 10+. Visitors must wear sturdy close-toed shoes (no sandals or flip flops) and anticipate that you will be walking up and down steep stairways. Boats sail promptly as scheduled, plan on arriving 30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure.
