Any suggestions on car inspection?

Can anyone suggest a reliable, honest and affordable place to get a car inspected? Someone who won't tell me the majority of my cars parts need to be replaced. I had an appointment to get it done today. Yesterday I went to a shop and was told to come back today. I did, and was told they couldn't do it and to leave the car. They'd get to it when they could. I couldn't do that. Went to four other places and none of them could do it. I would like to find a place that I can return to anytime me/my family needs an inspection. And/or general car work, if the place does that. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks so much for taking the time to read.
