Many families in Hampton Roads have been profoundly impacted by the uptick in violence. Many are anxious to leave their homes, afraid of who could be next. We ned both comfort in the loss of loved ones and a renewed sense of hope. Violence must not win! That’s why the URC has partnered with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, WAVY 10, and the Harrison Opera House, to host “An Evening of Hope” on October 18th 2022. At this free and public event, we will unite the community with full orchestral performances. The evening will include a memorial of submitted names of persons from our community killed by gun violence over the past year. We will also honor the agencies in our community that offer responses to violence to save lives including ambulance services, first responders, fire departments, law enforcement, trauma units, grief counselors, and educators.
