Beacon Community Connections invites you to attend Beacon Community Connections' Fifth Annual South Louisiana Community Health Summit. This year’s Summit will be an in-person event held on Friday, September 30th at the Acadiana Center for the Arts. After the educational portion of the Summit, we will host a pop-up Community Health Festival on Vermilion St. The festival will be open to the general public and will be a means to showcase community health opportunities through the festival culture of South Louisiana. Last year’s festival was wildly successful and drew in over 500 attendees. The South Louisiana Community Health Summit theme this year will be “Elevating the Conversation.” The focus will be on understanding the dimensions of health literacy and its role in a positive patient experience. The Summit will move beyond basic health literacy and discuss aspects such as financial literacy, technology and digital literacy, and thoughtful decision-making.
