Building Spiritual Strength (BSS) Moral Injury Institute will facilitate a training event for spiritual caregivers / chaplains / clergy in the Springfield, Missouri area introducing participants to a Veterans Administration program for addressing spiritual distress/moral injury among military veterans: Building Spiritual Strength (BSS). The focus of this two-session training is to equip participants (clergy/spiritual caregivers/chaplains) in facilitating an 8-session small group of military veterans in Building Spiritual Strength (BSS). The training will be by Dr. Irene Harris, a Veterans Administration licensed psychologist, who has been developing this process for several years in response to trauma-related spiritual distress and moral injury. This training event goal is to assemble a small in-person group of spiritual care clergy/chaplains to go through the training event and then to hopefully facilitate one or more BSS groups in Springfield for local Veterans.
