For Little Rock area pastors and ministry leaders. October 14th-15th. Facilitated by Rev. Dr. Seth Richardson, director of Gravity Congregational Transformation. What's this workshop all about?In any congregation, there are deeply held assumptions that shape how people think, talk, and act. These assumptions often operate without our awareness, like water for fish. The problem is that most leaders don’t know how to discern what’s at work under the surface in their congregation, and this creates tension between aspiration (who you want to be) and reality (who you actually are). Even more, unexamined structures often (unintentionally) center one group of people and marginalize others. The good news is that the Spirit of God is already working beneath the waterline of our awareness, making room for new and unexpected forms of life to grow. This workshop is all about learning how to notice and cooperate with how the Spirit is already renewing life and making real God's Kingdom in your context. During the workshop, we will dig into the postures and tools that can help leaders listen to the social forces in their congregation, discern what's happening and why, and then lead toward transform on the systems level. Registration cost is $40, which includes refreshments and lunch on Saturday What kind of work will we do together?Our time will combine teaching, dialogue, and imaginative brainstorming. You'll walk away not only with new frameworks for understanding your congregation, but also concrete ideas about how to take practical steps forward.
