Description
Hi, I’m 45 and I play mainly guitar and also some bass, percussion and keys. I’m seeking creative, fairly skilled musicians of all sorts — though especially drums, bass or keys — to collaborate on writing and recording some chill, pretty, groove based music. I’m hoping to find people who can listen closely, leave space when it fits, play softly as needed, and enjoy holding down a steady groove. I gravitate toward simple song forms and pretty melodies. I like to incorporate improvisation but I’m not looking to solo endlessly for soloing’s sake. I’m open to vocals but am not holding my breath on finding anyone on that front and am happy for it to start as an instrumental project.
I listen to a wide range of musical styles but the last few years I’ve mainly been inspired by an eclectic mix of 60s psychedelic ‘world' jazz, 70s ethio-jazz and R&B, for starters stuff like:

Despite the jazzy and loungey leanings, I’m not looking to play (Real Book) jazz charts, fusion, smooth jazz, funk, highly complex or experimental stuff.
Let me know if any of this sounds interesting and you want to meet up to talk or jam, tell me a bit about what you are into, what instruments you play and/or gear you use. I’m in NE Seattle so hopefully you are fairly nearby.
Thanks for reading!
