Since Seattle is a sanctuary city Why does Jay Inslee not invite migrants here? He should welcome them with open arms and provide free housing, medical services and food for them. If he needs more money I'm sure his pal Joe Biden will right him a check for 500 million. Although Democratic New York City Mayor Eric Adams indicated that his city would need to implement new strategies, including a homeless shelter in Manhattan, to handle the increased demand, recent reports indicate that the city has been unable to provide sufficient resources. According to the municipal Department of Homeless Services, officials intended to turn hundreds of rooms at a midtown hotel into an ad hoc shelter, though that plan has apparently fallen flat. Furthermore, the agency confirmed that a larger citywide program to set aside 5,000 hotel rooms remains mired in the selection and approval phase. As a result of the stalled process, New York City authorities have resorted to moving migrants into homeless shelters and facilities that are already in operation. Some estimates indicate that the cost of this plan will exceed $300 million. In addition to securing a place to live, officials have also encountered roadblocks when attempting to secure access to healthcare facilities, public schools, and other resources the incoming immigrants need. Despite “working at an extraordinary speed to bring emergency capacity online while doing everything we can to comprehensively address the unique needs” of thousands of migrants, agency spokesperson Neha Sharma acknowledged that the city remains unprepared for the current challenge. Instead of agreeing to Adams’ request to curtail further relocations from Texas to his city, Gov.
