This is one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make. These 2 dogs are family to me but unfortunately we have to part due to a scumbag landlord. Relocated from Upstate NY to Texas about a week ago. My girlfriend and I spent the last 6 months searching for a place that would allow us to keep our dogs. Just to find out the landlord rented the property to another family and has yet to return our first month rent and security deposit. We have been put in a situation where we have to choose between our dogs and a roof over my kids heads. Akira the Husky is 3 years old and was a birthday present for my son. We have had her since she was 8 weeks old. She is up to date on all her shots. She is not fixed or crate trained. She does follow basic commands and will definitely let you know when she is ready to go potty. She is a ball of energy, love and fur lol. If it was up to me I would keep her hidden in my apartment but it is not fair to her. She needs to be free to run. Shadow the pit bull is a bit of a different story. I saved him from a dog fighting ring. He is also a ball of love and cuddles. He is good with other dogs and kids. He is very protective of my children but otherwise he is a great dog who loves treats and butt scratches. I believe he is about 4 or 5 years old and we have had him for the last 2 years. I know the stigma of a black out bull can be intimidating. The last thing I want to do is have him put down because people are afraid of what this gentle giant looks like. He loves being outside and it’s just not fair of me to keep him locked up inside. Ideally what I would like is just to have someone foster my two dogs but in reality I can’t afford it. So here I am with a broken heart trying to do what is best for these two pups. I am asking for an adoption fee just to ensure they are going to the right home.
