Description
On October 22nd, there will be a party in Carrollton with live music and two different groups playing for the small crowd of friends and family in attendance… however, one of the bands is just an old guy who can sing, and owns a lot of instruments, but kinda sucks at playing any of them. I have a bassist and a banjo player who can pick and play already lined up, but I want this to be a bucket list thing and want to do this right. I’ve been a music journalist covering Texas/ Red Dirt and blues for lots of local publications, but I want to be on the other side of the mic now. I need a drummer, guitar players and ideally keys, a steel and a fiddle player to pull this off correctly. Would love to play regularly with a group of guys who share my musical interests and love to write music. As of this moment, the set list, which is partially negotiable, includes countrified or cover versions from the following group of musicians: Turnpike Troubadours, Tommy Alverson, William Clark Green, Prince, Pat Green, Lyle Lovett, Cross Canadian Ragweed, J.C. Harwell and the Gypsy Falcons, Erasure, Trout Fishing in America and at least something from the grand pantheon of Willie, Waylon and Merle. Apologies to Johnny Cash, I just don’t have the pipes… I can promise one thing… it will be fun!
