For those of you who don't know, teeyan da mela celebrates womanhood. It is an event in the Indian month of Saavan, corresponding to July/August when there are rains when women of all ages get together to welcome the month of rains with song and dance and have a good time together.The main focus of the teeyan is dancing Giddha. In the past, the festival would last for as long as the girls wishes ranging from a few days to four weeks.
