You are invited to the Society of Adventist Communicators convention from October 13-15, 2022, in Columbia, MD. This annual convention is designed for university students, volunteers and communication professionals to network, learn and experience spiritual renewal. You will hear from experts in the fields of corporate communication, public relations, graphic design, photography, video production, and journalism. Who Should AttendAttendees include media/communication professionals who are employed in any corporate setting, nonprofit, freelance, higher education, or communication employees of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (primarily in North America). University students who hope to become communication professionals are also welcome, and many see the convention as an avenue to gain professional mentoring and future contacts for employment. Those who serve as communication leaders at the local church or school level are also invited to attend.This is a North American Division sponsored event. RatesEarlybird: $349 - Until August 15, 2022 (Deadline extended!) Enter your discount code in the "promo code" field to reveal the student registration option Lodging and Convention VenueLodging for SAC 2022 will be at several hotels quite close to the North American Division office building. Some hotel are within walking distance of the offices, but walking is not advised due to unsafe traffic conditions. Instead. Uber vouchers will be available to cover the cost of traveling back and forth between the convention center and the hotel. Attendees are responsible for making their own room reservations. Please reserve a room at any of the hotels listed on this page. The hotel rate varies slightly at each hotel (Springhill Suites, Hampton Inn and Suites, and Sonesta Select Columbia), but averages $149 per night. Please use this portal to hotel links to book your stay as they have the NAD discount already applied. TravelThe nearest airport is Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) Thurgood Marshall Airport. The average travel time by car to/from the NAD Headquarters is 20 minutes. International GuestsIf you are planning to attend SAC from an international destination, you will need to submit a request for invitation to attend the convention from your local conference or union secretary. They will send a request to the North American Division secretariat for approval. If approved, a letter will be provided to aid you in obtaining a travel visa. Guest NotesConvention dress is business casual. Church attire is requested for the church service and Saturday evening banquet. As a courtesy to other participants and to maximize your benefit during the convention, please make other arrangements for the care of your children. ExhibitsAlthough space is limited and on a first-come-first-served basis, you are welcome to host an exhibit booth at this convention to represent your ministry or business that supports communicators in action.
