Enjoy an evening celebrating local music featuring featuring Columbia's own Lavenia Nesmith. Ms. Nesmith has performed regionally and nationally at some of the most prestigious venues and festivals. She is the creator in partnership with Oakland Mills Community Association of Jazz at the Mill the popular concert series. Ms. Nesmith will be accompanied by: - Robert Redd, keyboard - James King, bass - Thad Wilson, trumpet - Lenny Robinson, drums - Paul Carr, saxphone ParkingParking will be assigned the day before the event. The parking lots that will be used are below. We anticipate all ADA and most of the early bird audience will be in the Chrysalis Lot, with overflow into Lot 1. Chrysalis Lot: PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE GPS DIRECTIONS. From points north: Take 29 South to 175 West (Columbia). Continue as 175 becomes Little Patuxent Parkway. Take Little Patuxent Parkway to Symphony Woods Road, make a left. Make the immediate sharp right up a steep driveway. Seven ADA parking spaces are on the right at the top of the hill, right before you arrive at the white house. After these are filled, please park in any space. From points south: Take 29 North to Broken Land Parkway towards Town Center / Merriweather Post Pavilion. Make a right onto Little Patuxent Parkway. Take Little Patuxent Parkway to Symphony Woods Road, make a right. Make the immediate sharp right up a steep driveway. Seven ADA parking spaces are on the right at the top of the hill, right before you arrive at the white house. After these are filled, please park in any space. Lot 1: For GPS purposes, please use the address 10477 Little Patuxent Pkwy, Columbia, MD 21044. To get to Lot 1, go to the intersection of Little Patuxent Parkway and Merriweather Drive. Lot 1 is the curvilinear triangular shaped lot to the left if you are facing away from the mall, all surface parking. What to Expect OnsiteCovid-19 Safety ProtocolsWe are constantly re-evaluating our Covid-19 safety protocols. Currently masks are encouraged but not required. SeatingFor this event, the audience and the artists are all on stage. There is limited seating at no charge on the stage, first come first served. Please note that additional seating will be on the lawn and lawn chairs are available for rent. TicketsWe request all guests have a ticket, however, this is a free to attend show. Please consider a tax deductible donation - suggested $20/pp. No Pets No pets except service animals are permitted at this event. We will miss our four legged friends, but please do bring canine companions to events where permitted. RestroomsRestrooms are available at the top of Chrysalis hill. Can I bring a picnic?Yes! No glass or alcohol. Alcohol available for purchase. What is available to purchase onsite?Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, packaged snacks, food trucks at select events.
