Beginning the journey into being trauma-informed starts with awareness and moving into practical skills. This interactive six-hour class starts the discussion of “what” is trauma and “why” this knowledge is critical to programs and ministries.
Participants will
Understand how trauma impacts every area of child development.Understand the impact of early childhood adverse experiences on development. Apply strategies to promote emotional and behavioral regulation related to the needs of children and teens with a traumatic history. Know four essential skills required for every adult involved in the lives of children and teens who have experienced trauma. Know practical strategies and tools to engage children and teens to promote healing. Length: Six-hours in person (onsite)
