Next year, Sister to Sister will celebrate thirty years of empowering the women of the Dayton region and beyond. My, how time flies! Next year, I will celebrate my sixtieth birthday. Funny. When I was 30, 60 seemed old. And far away. (LOL!) Whether you are looking forward to a milestone in your career, or marking an important phase in your life, there should always be a period of preparation. While we often focus on the “big thing,” there are a lot of “little things” that need to, should and must happen in the process. This, my sisters, is The Prelude: Everything that is leading up to your “next.” Unfortunately, one of two things often happens during The Prelude: • Either we become overwhelmed by what needs to be done…so we do nothing. • Or, we become so consumed with the process that we don’t enjoy the journey. I don’t know about you, but I have found myself in both categories. And if you have too, there is absolutely no shade and no shame. September 17th will be our day (Me included!) to take an honest look at where we are, where we want to be, and then identify the steps to get there. And there will also be an exciting announcement of a new initiative! One designed to keep you focused on your goals after the conclusion of the conference.
