The festival kicks off with performances by this years winners of the Steve Harris Songwriter of the Year Award, Jessa Book and Max Neihof! Kid's activities inside the solar powered yurt, face painting, food trucks, beer, wine, batch cocktails and plenty of space to spread out and celebrate. Raised an hour drive from New Orleans in Mississippi, a state that has produced the very core of American music, Johnson grew up with great respect for the blues, gospel, and country sound that has defined the area's artistic heritage. Joe's own family has contributed to that great legacy. His Grandfather, the noted early Nashville Country artist B.J. "the D.J." The core members of the band are Joe McGarry, Justin Fischer, and Julian Dillon. Family Elephant collaborates with and features many of the areas finest musicians, including but not limited to Jesse Cotton Stone, Jared Thomas, Ted Galloway, Bryant Jones, Audrey Bussanich, and Brendan Hannigan. Red Moon Rounder takes the stage at 12:00. Red Moon Rounder is an original indie/folk rock band from Colorado Springs, formed in 2018 with an organic sound that is accessible to the masses but with a lyrical foundation that welcomes those who like to go deeper into the song.
