Thursday, September 29 12:00 p.m. Fort Monroe Visitor & Education Center 30 Ingalls Rd, Fort Monroe, VA 23651 Barbara Hamm Lee and Lisa Godley invite you to join them for a live broadcast of Another View from Fort Monroe. Learn about Harriet Tubman ahead of the documentary about her that will air on WHRO TV on Oct. 4. Harriett served as a nurse at Fort Monroe in 1865. She was brought in to treat wounded Black soldiers and those who had been captured by the enemy and were held as Contraband. Our panel of guests will discuss Harriet’s time at Fort Monroe, as well as the many things that were happening at the Fort during the Civil War and how these events impacted the lives of Black people going forward. Joining Another View for this enlightening discussion will be guests: -Ajena Rogers - the Supervisory Park Ranger at Maggie L.
