October is Adopt A Shelter Dog month and Pitbull Awareness Month and our 4th Annual RUN 4 THE PAWS is sure to be a Thriller!   Check In at the Shelter will begin at 9:00 am, Warm up at 10:00 am, Run will line up to start at 10:15 am. and the After Party opens at 11:30 am.   Participants & Adoptable K-9’s* will run a 2 mile course along Judge Dufresne Parkway. Runners are encouraged to come in Zombie costume and following the run there will be an After Party with food, music and costume contest. Zombie Run:  $30 (13-Adult) $15 (5-12) (kids under 5 run free) and this year we are allowing the family pup to run for $5.00. - price increases to $35.00/$20.00 at the gate  Proceeds from this event will help Turning Rescues Into Pets (TRIP) provide medical care to the animals at the St Charles Parish Animal Shelter to get them healthy and ready to be Adopted!  *For the safety of our Runners and K-9's, only Experienced Shelter approved Volunteers will be allowed to run the shelter dogs - While the purpose of this run is to showcase our shelter dogs, this year we have decided to open the run up to allow personal dogs for a small fee. Dogs must be up to date on their vaccinations, on leash at all times during the event and we ask that you keep a safe distance of 6’ apart.
