Join us for an evening immersed in community and connection as SAADA Archival Fellow Roshni Shah shares her fellowship project, "Heart of a Hero."
As a nurse on the frontlines of the Covid-19 Pandemic, Roshni Shah felt called to serve and protect the community she loved. However, as weeks transformed into months and deaths continued to mount into large numbers, the fatigue and mental demands forced Roshni and other South Asian healthcare workers to re-evaluate.
Inspired by the stories she heard from peers but not reflected in the mainstream media, Roshni has collected interviews from South Asian physicians and nurses across the United States about working in healthcare from 2020 to now.
Join us for an immersive dialogue around the shifting culture of South Asian Americans, our mental health needs and re-evaluating what we define as a modern day "hero."
This event includes a conversation led by Roshni Shah, a video presentation, and an interactive art show, where you can take part in creating art and adding it to the art gallery displayed!
