Ten years ago, young Black leaders met in the living room of Congresswoman Karen Bass with a vision bigger than themselves, one that would become a powerful force to ensure Black Angelinos are represented, treated fairly and have the resources to thrive. In 2012, the Black Los Angeles Young Democrats (BLAYD) was born. On October 7th, BLAYD will host our 1st Annual Black LA Sneaker Ball & 10 Year Anniversary Celebration. We invite you to join us as we honor Congresswoman Karen Bass (our future Mayor) the Black Los Angeles Young Democrats TrailBlazer Award. This year we are honoring the achievements, journey and road to making change in Black Los Angeles, while also calling for more young Black leaders to join us on the fight.
