Description

Midwest Paranormal Research Society - "Witch of Wilderness Park" Lincoln, NE Back in the early 1900s, several children went missing from the Lincoln area. Many believed they ran away, and some believed they disappeared in Wilderness park. It wasn't until one day, a boy went missing and his sister claimed to see him walking back into the woods with an old woman, a woman whom the locals had named "Witch of Wilderness Park" because she lived in a secluded shack by herself in the woods. Upon the girls remarks, police came out to investigate the scene, where the bodys of half a dozen of the missing children were uncovered. When questioned, the old woman only complained that the children would run all over her yard. With no hard evidence, they could not convict her. When news hit the locals, they were outraged, and they set out and seized the old woman themselves, and hung her by the neck in chains from a big tree. Rumor has it today that the witch haunts the woods of Wilderness, and claims of rattling chains and screams of the witch are heard in the darkness of night as well as the laughter and cries of the dead children. Below pictured is what some call Hells Gate, located on the outskirts of the woods, where it is believed if you walk back into the woods from the gate, you will find the ghosts of the dead children and the witch of the woods. | Facebook https://www.facebook.com/ParanormalPartnersPodcast/photos/a.1655855794631790/1718932254990810/?type=3 The 1894 Rock Island railroad wreck occurred when a locomotive pulling two passenger cars was derailed on August 9, 1894, in Lincoln, Nebraska, killing eleven people. There were signs that a 400-foot trestle had been purposely damaged, and it was ruled as sabotage. A local man was jailed for second-degree murder, though his guilt remains in doubt. It was one of the worst cases of mass murder in the state of Nebraska.
