Description

In the seventeenth-century, women created the salon as an undifferentiated social space that valued ideas and fostered discussion. In these salons, women and men engaged together on equal footing in the project of Enlightenment. These salons became known as hotbeds for creativity and progressive ideas and they created an important outlet for voices that might not otherwise have been heard. In our 21st century research salon: - Dr. Onnolee Nordstrom will set the stage with a review of what’s been studied in the area of women’s entrepreneurship - Dr. Ahmad Al Asady will enlighten us by discussing his latest research project exploring gender and corruption - Dr. Joshua Marineau will connect it to our region as he tells us about the team’s recent project exploring gender roles in Fargo’s entrepreneurial ecosystem - Dr. Dan Hsu will ignite our thinking with a discussion of his recent project that looks at the gender difference in investor’s investment decisions
