Description

With the garden transitioning into a slower season, it's tempting to put things off until spring. Don't put your feet up just yet though, as fall and winter are the perfect time to clean up, take stock, and plan for next year's fruit crop. Join us to learn how to care for your fruit trees in the fall and winter, to make sure you set them up for success in the spring. Clearing the garden means plenty of extra material that can be put to use as fodder for your own compost. In the second half of class, learn how to create and maintain a compost pile that will help clear up space in the garden and create organic matter for years to come. Join the Extension Master Gardener℠ Volunteers of Durham County to learn gardening tricks and tips at the Briggs Avenue Community Garden. Sessions will be led by Kat Causey and Kathryn Hamilton. REGISTRATION REQUIRED Parking is available along the street. Please bring your own chair. Image Credit: Lucy Bradley CC BY – 2.0
