The 502s provide the soundtrack for adventure, and that’s exactly the spirit behind the recent viral TikTok trend of their song “Just A Little While”. While the song was released in October 2021 as the lead-off to their album Could It Get Better Than This, it exploded in popularity in December, coinciding with the end of the fall school semester. The band fired up their TikTok one day and saw thousands of videos from college and high school students posting compilations of their school year experiences, all scored by the ebullient chorus of “Just A Little While”. Soon the trend caught on with users of all ages, locations and backgrounds, with the song appearing in videos of everything from motivational videos to makeup tutorials to globetrotting excursions. The result has been a massive influx of millions of new fans, pushing their streaming numbers through the roof and landing them on Billboard’s Hot Rock and Alternative chart, as well as the #3 spot on Spotify’s Top Viral 50 tracks. The 502s have grabbed the spotlight overnight, but they’re anything but a flash in the pan. The six strapping lads are no strangers to TikTok audiences, following a prior viral moment back in 2020 with a video for their song “Magdalene”. The most recent album is their second full length, and the band has already traveled on multiple tours across North America and Europe. The 502s’ sound can be described as a combination of the familiar folk pop singalongs of The Lumineers with the swelling instrumental energy of Paul Simon’s Graceland. Employing banjo, piano, and soprano saxophone as main instruments, the band is full of unexpected surprises and always ready to bring a smile and a shout when they hit the stage. HAPPY LANDING HAPPY LANDING is an alternative folk band from Oxford, MS. The band members Matty Hendley, Jacob Christensen, Keegan Lyle, Wilson Moyer, and Andrew Gardner met in Oxford, Mississippi while attending the University of Mississippi. Through various musical influences (alternative rock, bluegrass, pop punk, and more) HAPPY LANDING has developed to become what they call the first-ever "Skate Folk" band, known for their crispy vocal harmonies, creative instrumental execution and energetic stage presence. SAMUEL HERB Samuel Herb is a singer/songwriter originally from Jacksonville, FL. After placing second in American Songwriter Magazine’s Lyric Contest, Herb decided to make the move to Nashville in 2016 where he quickly fell in love with Americana music. After wrestling with the idea of becoming an artist as well as a writer he released his debut single, “Dirty.” which wound-up in the Top 10 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart. “Dirty.” has since been streamed nearly 40,000 on all platforms in over 50 different countries around the world. Herb’s love of storytelling brings audiences into his mind, while his in your face sound shows off his personality. His love of country music, combined with the sounds of Motown and even Disney music are apparent when listening to his stories. In October of 2018, Herb released his second single, “Someone Else’s Dream” which again debuted in the Top 10 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart and quickly grew to a crowd favorite for live shows. It was after writing that song with his producer, Mark Caldwell, that Herb quit his job to pursue music full time. In Spring of 2019, Herb’s self-titled, debut EP was released featuring 6-songs, all of which are completely different in story and sound. The EP also made it to #10 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart when it debuted. Since making the move to artist in 2018, Samuel has shared the stage with Rodney Atkins, The 502s, Gabe Lee, Son Little, Pokey LaFarge, Amythyst Kiah, Hush Kids, Tyler Hilton, Erin Rae, Shawn James and so many more. In such a short time, Herb has tallied up hundreds of shows on stages all across the U.S. In 2020, Samuel released a single title "Just a Tree" which sparked his tree planting initiative to plant ONE tree in a US National Forest for every 1,000 streams on any of his songs and ONE tree for every piece of merchandise sold from his store. Together, he and his fans have planted over 750 trees. "Ever the creative and consummate storyteller, Samuel can weave a striking story with ease, and when combined with his love of diverse musical tastes, creates an authentic and soulful experience for those of us who are lucky enough to take part in it." - Turn Up The Amp Magazine
