Description

The Columbia Employment Consortium (CEC) brings you their Dine & Development Series. You won't want to miss it! Join us as we celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month.  Agenda: Lunch & Learning Session: Enjoy lunch with us, while learning about Disability Equality-The Untapped Essential for Any Business, presented by Darla Wilkerson, CEO, Center for Disability Inclusion. Persons with disabilities continue to be underrepresented in corporate America. However some businesses are starting to recognize it costs to overlook people with disabilities and that disability equality and inclusion is more than just “nice to have” but rather an imperative. In this session Mrs. Wilkerson will provide information on why disability inclusion is imperative and how companies can embrace proven strategies for business success. She will also share what services the Center for Disability Inclusion offers the business community and how to strategically design a customized road map to intentionally influence disability equality. It’s about going beyond the basics and truly engaging in the work that will advance disability inclusion in the workplace. Disability Employment Champions Award Presentations:  Three local business champions who promote disability diversity within their workforce through the recruitment, hiring, training and promotion of individuals with disabilities will be recognized for their inclusive employment practices.
