Rock Climbing 101: The Journey from Gym to Crag

Have you ever wanted to try rock climbing but didn't know where or how to start? Are you skilled in the climbing gym, but dream of climbing outside? Do you want to try something new in community? This indoor rock climbing clinic is for you! Afros in Nature, in partnership with Eastern Pennsylvania Alliance of Climbers (EPAC), is excited to invite members of the BIPOC community (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) to join us as we begin the journey from indoor climbing gym to outdoor crag. This event is the first of a four part series that is geared towards preparing both seasoned and would be climbers of all levels to take their skills from the gym to the great outdoors. Beings aged 4 and up are welcome learn how to climb. Beings aged 14 and up are welcome to learn how to belay. Join us on September 10th for our first session at Reach Climbing + Fitness. Our allies will be teaching us the ropes (literally) of climbing safety and technique. The first three sessions will build on themselves with the finale being at an outdoor crag in early 2023. Its best to avoid crop tops, short shorts, and other articles of clothing that expose a lot of skin.
