WHAT YOU’LL DOUnder the immediate supervision of the Manager of Facilities & Fleet, the Maintenance Assistant effectively maintains safe and practical workspaces for employees and maintains the function and appearance of all Smithville properties/buildings. In this role, the Maintenance Assistant will spend approximately 70% of the time performing groundskeeping duties of all properties. This responsibility includes grass mowing, trimming, trash removal, tree cutting, brush and debris removal, snow and ice removal, using power wash equipment, and learning preventative maintenance on equipment. The Maintenance Assistant will spend complete maintenance requests and support the maintenance team. RESPONSIBILITIESPerform groundskeeping duties of all properties (70%)Grass mowing, trimming, trash removalTree cutting, brush and debris removalPerform snow and ice removalUsing power wash equipmentLearn preventative maintenance on various equipmentMaintenance requests from internal customers (10%)Material and furniture haulingAid and support maintenance team (10%)Deliver supplies as neededMaintain clean, safe, and orderly work sites while following all health and safety guidelinesReport all significant events, problems, or issues to immediate supervisorPerform other duties as assigned (10%) WHAT YOU’LL NEEDQUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED requiredAny combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as describedExperience in building maintenance and repair and/or building trades preferredKnowledge of safe work methods with the ability to pull trailers and load/unload equipment safelyValid driver’s license and safe driving recordAbility to work in confined or elevated spaces and in various types of weather conditionsProven ability to follow instructions and prioritize workExperience using GPSAbility to perform a variety of physical labor, including but not limited to: climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, reaching, and standing for long periods of time, lifting and carrying boxes, tools, equipment and materialsTYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONSOutdoors exposed to changing weather conditions (70%)Outdoors but in an enclosed vehicle or temporary shelter protected from extreme weather conditions (15%)Indoors in a temperature-controlled environment (10%) Indoors in a non-temperature-controlled environment (Ex.
