Olympic Pharmacy Healthcare Services is looking for an Equipment Repair Technician I to join our Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Maintenance Department. This individual will be part of the team that is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all company owned rental equipment as well as customer owned equipment in need of repairs. Please note that this a full-time (40 hours) entry level role and some experience would be an advantage but not essential. We are located in Gig Harbor, WA. Please consider the commute and whether you'll have to cross the Tacoma Narrows Toll-Bridge, before applying. ** This position is open to local Gig Harbor students for a paid part-time internship. ** DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES: • Repair and maintain all equipment, in a cost-effective manner, along with recording and documenting each repair. • Determine when repairs are not appropriate and notify customer or inventory clerk. • Order parts and supplies and maintain adequate inventory levels in a cost-effective manner. • Verify warranty repair expense. • Receiving and stocking of all equipment followed by all necessary documentation and handling involved. • Assist in facilitating a smooth transition and ensuring a positive experience for our patients. • Assist with delivery and set-up of equipment efficiently with appropriate instructions to customer. • Ensure that all equipment in the warehouse is clean and in good working order. • Maintain up-to-date files of manufactures’ repair and maintenance manuals, warranties, and other related documentation. • Develop and implement policies and procedures regarding equipment repair and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer and regulatory guidelines. • Ensure equipment is received, labeled, correctly entered into the computer, clean and appropriately tagged. • Ensure dirty and clean equipment areas are clearly marked and kept separate. • Ensure regular service to equipment in compliance with manufacturer suggested guidelines. • Pharmacy compounding hood maintenance and repair. • Process out going UPS. • Manage incoming and outgoing oxygen cylinders. • Assist with respiratory repairs. • Share rotating on-call duties. • Ensure that all serialized inventory is traceable. • Ensure that there are manuals available for all equipment delivered. • Ensure maintenance of all vehicles is maintained. • Keep work area clean and organized. • Demonstrate timeliness, courtesy, sincerity, and patience when dealing with customers and employees. Promote the company in a positive and professional manner. • Attend workshops, in-service, and/or training as appropriate to perform job function. • Transport products to and from pharmacy. • Maintain Pharmacy Assistance License • Assist with driver routes. • Other duties as deemed appropriate by management. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent - Required for Full-time position. • Local HS students approved for a part-time paid internship. • Able to work independently with minimal supervision. • Ability to use good oral and written communication, especially with diverse groups of people in stressful or highly emotional situations. • Able to function as a polite and cooperative team member with a positive attitude. • Must be detail oriented. • Excellent driving record. • Knowledge of common power tools and how to use them safely. • Able to maintain confidentiality. • Obtain and maintain a Washington State DOH Pharmacy Assistant License. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/EXPERINCE: • Knowledge of computers and telephone etiquette - Required. • Previous electrical repair, mechanical repair, or small engine experience - Highly Desired. • Previous inventory/purchasing experience - Preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee is repeatedly required to sit, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, climb and lift and carry items weighing 100 pounds or less as well as to frequently walk, stand, twist, reach and do simple and power grasping. The position requires manual deviation, repetition, and dexterity and to occasionally drive a vehicle (car, truck, van) and be exposed to uneven walking ground, seasonal heat, and freezing temperatures, as well as Hazardous Exposure (Blood Borne Pathogens, Chemical & Infectious). Visual requirements include computers, manuals, small parts, and driving.
