Description
Seeking keys player to be a part of a casual and friendly group of mostly older players/singers who are getting together near Deep Ellum every other Sunday afternoon to make music purely for the fun of it. Our next session is coming up this Sunday, the 4th.
We have about 20 or so folks on our 'active' list and out of that a typical get-together will see us with maybe six to ten players showing up - with multiple guitars, violin, mandolin, keys, bass and drums, an occasional sax, along with several vocalists. There's no particular commitment or obligation involved and our deal is that people are free to join us when they can, with no one getting any grief when they don't.
And we are looking for someone who can handle keys for us, hopefully on a regular basis.
About proficiency: we are in this mainly for the fun of it and we want to sound as good as we can, HOWEVER - we're open to talking with you no matter what your level, as long as you are interested in playing with others and working on your chops! Want to play and sing? Even better!
The material we play tends to lean mostly to older rock and popular stuff, but we have no rules about that. For that matter, we don't have many rules at all. In most cases, it is our singers who pick what they want us to play and we go with that. And to be clear, we are not working on "forming a band" and we are not looking to play gigs.
One thing that is important to us is that everyone check at the door their ego, attitude, drama, politics and religion, because what we are all about is having fun with our music.
So ~ if you think that you might be interested in finding out more, why not give us a shout?
And thanks very much for looking!
