I have a neighbor, who is a single parent that also cares for her disabled mother. She has a really hard time finding rides to places, so she doesn't leave the house often. Due to a series of very unfortunate events and a couple of serious emergencies, she has depleted her checking and savings, all of her frozen and refrigerated foods had to be throw out.
