Description

Today was my daughter's first day at preschool, she's 2 years old. It was a great day! I'm a single father with my daughter full time and I'm incredibly proud of her. She confidently walked right into the school once she saw the other kids and never looked back. When I picked her up, she was so happy and excited, I could tell she had had a wonderful day. She's kind of always a happy kid but today she was overjoyed. This morning, I took her to school by bike in her bike trailer. When I went to pick her up, I took the car so we could go pickup some gardening tools from a person on CL across town. We were gone for about an hour, including a grocery run. When we can back home, the bike trailer was still there, locked to the carport post, but the bike had been detached and taken unfortunately. It wasn't the greatest bike in the world but it was perfect for what we needed. I was really looking forward to taking her to and from school each day this way. It had been my dad's bike, a Trek hybrid, built for comfort and ease of transportation. He passed away 2 years ago shortly after my daughter was born. He never really got to ride it much but I remember he bought it with all the best intentions of becoming more active and turning his health battles around. When I ride that bike, it reminds me of him and how I am able to do many of things he wanted to but never did, in a way bringing those intentions to life. I really wish we still had the bike but I hope whom ever took it really needed it; eventually I will get another bike. If you see it or know about about how I might be able to get it back I would greatly appreciate it. I've included the only pictures I was able to find with the bike in it: a black Trek hybrid with digital speedometer attached and back rack. Today was still a great day! Thank you for reading.
