COME APPLY AT OUR WAUKEGAN OFFICE 748 N Green Bay Rd, Waukegan, IL 60085 General Summary: The Lead Person must be able to direct the activities of all production operators and setup persons. This position also trains production operators in any aspect of the production process. Minimum Requirements: • Must be able to perform basic mathematics. • 1-2 years production line experience or equivalent. • Have the ability to communicate effectively. • Have the knowledge and understanding of basic measuring equipment such as, calipers and micrometers or exhibit the aptitude for being trained in their use. • A team leader must exhibit the aptitude for learning and being able to be trained in different areas of the production process. • Exhibit leadership skills and able to train production workers. Position Responsibilities: • Supervise, train, and instruct setup persons and operators. • Monitor safety and quality in the department. • Interact with quality control and plant manager. • Return finished first piece parts from quality control to value stream cells. • Interact with engineering to resolve production issues that require engineering assistance and, or create EAR’s in the tracker. • Takes responsibility for meeting customer on time delivery requirements. • Monitors cleanliness throughout the assigned department. • Monitors the segregation and identification of non-conforming product. • Develop procedures and processes for new product development. • Continually search for improvements to existing processes. • Aware and knowledgeable of company quality policy. • Accepts responsibility for meeting the product quality objectives of the department. • Offers suggestions for continuous improvement of day to day operations. • Completes shop paperwork. • Performs other work as assigned or directed. Position Authorities: • Has the authority to stop or refuse any material, equipment, and /or personnel if they/it are affecting the quality of the product. • Has authority to stop production if safety or product quality would be compromised.
