Chihuahuas are loyal, friendly and good family pets when treated respectfully. They can get all the exercise needed in the house or apartment. Some pet owners are drawn to the size of chihuahua and to the idea that they're so small that they're low-maintenance. This is hardly the case! Chihuahuas require just as much care and training as a larger dog. We recommend you feed an adult Chihuahua three times a day; breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Some snacks in-between can also be helpful to keep their energy up between meals. Keep in mind that puppies under 3 months will require up to 4-6 separate meals per day, due to their high metabolism.
