Description

In the latest installment of our Advancing Racial Equity Series, in partnership with Seattle University, we’re so excited to welcome the co-founder of Black Voters Matter, LaTosha Brown, to our community for an enlightening conversation about advocacy, voting rights, and ways to take action towards a just and equitable nation. LaTosha Brown is an award-winning organizer, philanthropic consultant and political strategist. She is a nationally recognized, “go-to” expert on Black voting rights and voter suppression, Black women’s empowerment and philanthropy. A catalyst for change, LaTosha is the co-founder of Black Voters Matter Fund and Black Voters Matter Capacity Building Institute—initiatives designed to boost Black voter registration and turnout, and increase power in marginalized, predominantly Black communities. As part of our racial equity journey envisioning equitable communities where ALL people thrive, ticket sales and any proceeds raised from this event will go toward supporting The Black Community Building Collective and The Indigenous Communities Fund. If the ticket price is a barrier for you to attend, please email us at [email protected] for a free ticket code. United Way is committed to making all our events as accessible as possible. When you register, you’ll have an opportunity to indicate any accommodations you need. Please note that a minimum of two weeks’ notice is necessary to arrange some accessibility needs. If you have any questions, please reach out to [email protected]. Special thanks to our partners:
