The Fairwood Alliance is BACK! The Fairwood Alliance is a community group advocating for the businesses in Fairwood. The goal is to connect and support local businesses through a community directory, events & spreading the word about our amazing slice of unincorporated King County! The founders of the Fairwood Alliance are Rosie Rourke Team members Liz DeSmith and Melissa Hudson. Both life long residents of Renton and Fairwood, they live, work and play in our special community. In February of 2020 the first meeting of the Fairwood Alliance was held. Less than 1 month later the affects of COVID caused us to shelf the alliance just when it was getting started. Now that the COVID years are behind us, we are back and ready to tackle the challenges that face the business community in Fairwood. Our Agenda & Goals for 2022/23 For the rest of 2022 we plan on reviving the alliance and set some action goals to bring our community back together. Based on our first meeting back in 2020 we have some action items we would like to work towards this year. - Create a unique brand using a local graphic designer and letting the community decide on the look and feel! - Develop a community directory/website with businesses, the neighborhoods, social media groups, event schedules and more. -Schedule an event for the businesses of Fairwood to engage with our community! Some ideas are reviving the farmer's market that used to be at the Fairwood shopping center, a Wine Walk and a Tree Lighting this holiday season.
